Pushkar Fair
The Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan is one of the worlds largest camel fairs and a real spectacle to behold. Experience the complete spectrum of life in Rajasthan from subsistence farmers who maintain a very simple existence to the privileged life of the princes.

A very special feature of the rides are the horses, the Marwari with their characteristic ears curling in at the top. The horses are forward going and fun to ride. The tack is English style Indian Army saddlery.

The Forts and Palaces Ride is in the ancient kingdom of Shekhawati. The riding is through desert area broken up with small villages. You will witness traditional rural life in Rajasthan. On this itinerary you will be in Dundlod at the time of Diwali. As well as the Pushkar Fair, you visit Jaipur and if time permits can continue onto Agra and the Taj Mahal.

These Marwari horses come from the stables at Dundlod Castle, home to Kanwar Raghuvendra Singh, known as Bonnie. Bonnie is a warm and considerate host and also an expert horseman.
He is a direct descendent of Kesari Singh who built Dundlod Castle in the 1750's. At Dundlod, Bonnie has set up the largest Marwari stud farm in India and has established a breed improvement programme.

The Pushkar Fair Kumbhalgarh Ride moves west of Pushkar and south of Jodhpur. The terrain changes to more fertile ground and you will see more mountainous scenery and trees. The days can be longer on the Kumghalgarh Ride and the pace can be slower due to the terrain. The itinerary includes a visit to Udaipur.

Historically Rajasthan is one of India's richest regions littered with magnificent forts and palaces that were once home, and in many cases still are, to royal princes. Some of these are now hotels where you stay during the ride.

The Pushkar Trail rides follow a different riding route spending more nights in tented camps. This trail can be combined with a visit to the vast Bateshwar Fair near Agra - therefore combining two of the biggest animal fairs of India or with a visit to Ranthambore National Park in search of a glimpse of the elusive tiger. All itineraries include sightseeing in Jaipur and Agra.
